Billions of dollars have been cut from youth sports budgets. So we created the Sports Matter Green Laces to fight back.
With every purchase, $2 goes directly to underfunded youth sports programs across the country.
We launched the Green Laces with a short film about The Fifth Ward Saints—A youth football team from Houston. Their equipment was stolen and it shut down their program.
But knowing the power that football had on these kids, their coach fought to get his players back on the field. We followed him around to capture his story, then surprised him and the Saints with brand new equipment, and funding they desperately needed.

For “My Cause My Cleats” NFL stars Deandre Hopkins, Melvin Gordon, Derrick Henry, Earl Thomas, and TJ Watt wore custom cleats with our laces and the DSG Foundation message.
Then we got athletes and influencers from different sports to share their own stories about what sports have meant to them.
The laces packaging encouraged people to snap pics, and share them. Which they did.

The laces helped raise over 3 million dollars for youth sports. And while they are no longer being produced, the lace ribbon has become an icon for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation. It can be found on products, patches, pins, and as part of signage and displays for their events and seminars.
